Paris has many surprises for its summer visitors. Read on as your Hotel Juliana team highlights some of them for you, including their current favourite, Night at the Invalides. Don’t miss the enchantment from July 12th to August 30th.
Night at the Invalides; fascinating and entertaining
Paris has an abundance of prestigious monuments. Thus, the Hotel des Invalides, despite the beauty of its classical architecture and superb golden dome, is often squeezed off the tourist trail. This summer, we invite you to discover this complex of museums and monuments and enjoy Night at the Invalides. This 50-minute immersive multimedia show, projected on the façade of the building, tells the story of the history of Paris, from the ancient Roman settlement of Lutetia to today. Music and the voices of famous actors help to bring this fascinating tale to vivid life. You can follow the show with a night tour of the dome.
The Army Museum; the nation’s militaria collection
The Hotel Juliana is only a 10-minute walk from the Hotel des Invalides, so you can get to see the show easily. Get there early so you have enough time to visit one of the capital’s lesser-known but utterly fascinating museums, the Musée de l'Armée, also located in the complex. Thousands of military artefacts are displayed, ranging from old armour and weapons, artillery and equipment to uniforms, military models, paintings and personal archives. Don’t miss the superb architecture born from the genius of Jules Hardouin-Mansart, whose stunning dome shelters the tomb of Napoleon I. A fascinating experience for both militaria enthusiasts and casual visitors.
Enjoy your summer in Paris and benefit from the exceptional location of the Hotel Juliana to discover the wonders of the Hotel des Invalides. From Night at the Invalides to the Army Museum, the place is full of surprises.
